Cancellation Procedure

We never charge you for cancelling

You can cancel your agreement with Ashworth & Ingram Compensation Partners (trading as Council Repair Claims) at any time, free of charge. There are no cancellation fees for our service.

How to cancel with us

You can tell us in whichever way suits you:

We will confirm your cancellation in writing.

If you cancel before we refer your case to a solicitor

We will:

  • Stop all work on your claim immediately
  • Not pass your details to any solicitor
  • Confirm in writing that your claim has been cancelled
  • Keep or delete your information in line with our Privacy Policy

You will not be charged anything.

If we have already referred your case to a solicitor

Once your case is referred and you sign an agreement with a solicitor, that agreement is between you and the solicitor. Cancelling with us does not cancel your agreement with the solicitor. To cancel that, you need to contact your solicitor directly; we can give you their contact details.

Your solicitor's agreement has its own 14-day cooling-off period, during which you can cancel without charge. If you cancel after that cooling-off period, withdraw against your solicitor's advice, or don't co-operate with them, you may have to pay costs already incurred, including disbursements and, in some circumstances, your landlord's legal costs. Your solicitor will explain this before you sign.
